Simply put, this product represents the best design approach out there when it comes to using Sorbothane in audio applications (please read our vibration & audio white paper for a detailed explanation as to why this is the case). These supports were intentionally designed with a cylindrical shape so that the strain would be as constant as possible throughout. This will insure that the portion of the footer that is damping vibration is maximized, making the footer as efficient as possible unlike other designs that use sorbothane.

Using four footers, one under each corner, it is then possible to support components that range in weight from 3 lbs. to 30 lbs., simply by choosing the proper footers. For more effective damping of lighter components, simply order footers designed for a heavier load and add weights to the top of the component. This will lower the resonant frequency of the system, and increase damping of low frequency vibrations. For components that weigh in excess of 30 lbs., additional firm footers can be added to reduce the weight applied to each. Please contact us for pricing and advice on customized solutions like these.
